Battle: Aaron Lennon takes on Gareth Barry earlier this season at Tottenham
Harry Redknapp has stoked the fires ahead of their Champions League shootout by claiming that he would not swap any of his Spurs players for the stars of Manchester City.

The two sides go head-to-head at Eastlands on Wednesday night in a match that is likely to decide which of the two sides grabs the final qualification spot for Europe's top club competition.Spurs know that a win would guarantee they secure fourth spot in the Barclays Premier League - a massive achievement given they would have beaten mega-rich City and Liverpool.

Joe Calzaghe ponders dramatic return to the ring for rematch with old rival Bernard Hopkins

Clash of the titans: Calzaghe is in talks for a return to the ring to face Hopkins again, after beating him first, two years ago in Las Vegas

U-turn: Calzaghe called it quits after his impressive win over Roy Jones Jnr in 2008 but he may make a comeback
Joe Calzaghe is considering a comeback just two years after retiring from the ring as a reigning champion with his 46-fight unbeaten record intact.

With that in prospect, he is insisting that his self-confessed cocaine use was only occasional and not addiction.

The pride of Wales is being offered a re-match with Bernard Hopkins, over whom he gained a split decision here in his penultimate fight.
Both men went on to defeat fellow legend Roy Jones Jr - Calzaghe before quitting the ring, Hopkins just a month ago.

World Cup ref Howard Webb can start revolution with interview

Angry: Everton manager David Moyes (right) complains to Howard Webb

Decision: Phil Neville and Yakubu appeal to Webb over the 'goal'
If a player - when in an offside position - obstructs the view of opposing goalkeeper, he should be penalised as he is interfering with play.

FIFA’s simple interpretation of this aspect of a very complicated offside law would have made assistant referee Darren Cann’s decision a routine one at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Everton’s Victor Anichebe was standing directly in front of Stoke’s goalkeeper Asmir Begovic when Phil Jagielka headed the ball into the net from a corner.

Everton assistant manager Steve Round tried to argue that the goal should have stood and could not understand why it had been disallowed but World Cup referee Howard Webb very helpfully came out and gave an interview to explain all.

Police use Taser on fan on field at Phillies game

A Philadelphia police officer - with taser in hand - chases a fan who ran on the field during the 8th inning on Monday night

For the first time in Phillies history, a fan running on the field at Citizens Bank Park was subdued by a Philadelphia police officer using his Taser gun.

With 44,817 fans watching in the stands Monday night, the teenage male wearing a black baseball cap, red T-shirt and khaki shorts, ran on to the field during the eighth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals.

"This is the first time that a Taser gun has been used by Philadelphia police to apprehend a field jumper," Phillies spokeswoman Bonnie Clark said in a statement. "The Police Department is investigating this matter and The Phillies are discussing with them whether in future situations this is an appropriate use of force under these circumstances. That decision will be made public."

Mourinho would add charisma- Good candidate as game pundit.

If you were looking for the ideal World Cup pundit, Jose Mourinho would fit the bill. He is must-watch television, whether in press conferences or during matches.

His reaction to Inter Milan's Champions League victory against Barcelona was extraordinary and reminded us what a hugely charismatic figure he is.

He also knows the game, of course. Inter were brilliantly drilled against Barca.

They gave the Catalans space on the flanks by defending narrow, but it meant Messi and Co had no space in the middle.

It is one thing for a manager to come up with a game-plan, another to get the players to execute it.

Let's hope he can be tempted to give us his wisdom for some games in South Africa.

England next for Hodgson if Capillo quit England after World cup.

Homegrown: Roy Hodgson could handle England role

Sven Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello have managed England because of a lack of homegrown alternatives.

But if Capello leaves for any reason after the World Cup this summer, the Football Association wouldn't have to look much further than Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson's European exploits have captured the public imagination this season, particularly as his Fulham team seemed down and out against Juventus and Hamburg before reaching the Europa League final.

He's clearly an excellent coach and organiser, an intelligent football man and good communicator.

The one question-mark against him - can he handle the big names? - can be answered by his record at Inter Milan.

Hodgson and Harry Redknapp have shown that English managers can compete at the highest level.

Hodgson's achievement in taking Fulham to their first European final speaks volumes.

Giggs + Valencia + Nani + Fletcher + Scholes + Carrick = one Frank Lampard

Firepower: Frank Lampard has outscored six of his United rivals this season

There is little to choose between Chelsea and Manchester United this season. But if Carlo Ancelotti's men hold on to their slender lead and become champions - as I think they will - the difference will be their extra firepower.

Whereas Manchester United rely heavily on Wayne Rooney for goals, Chelsea can look to other players besides their main man Didier Drogba to score.
Florent Malouda, Nicolas Anelka. Salomon Kalou and Michael Ballack have all chipped in, and the phenomenal Frank Lampard is like having an extra striker in your team.

Lampard is incredible, a brilliant footballer.

He scores 20 goals a season from midfield, something United have lacked this season with Cristiano Ronaldo gone and Paul Scholes now 35.

Prize asset: Liverpool will find it hard to turn down £70m offers for Torres this summer

Rafa Benitez tells us 'nothing is clear-cut, nothing is straightforward' as speculation about his Anfield future rages on. But the way ahead seems clear. It's time for Benitez and Liverpool to go their separate ways. It's time for everyone to make a fresh start.

Benitez will hold talks this week with new Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton, the astute businessman who chairs the British Airways board, brought in to oversee the sale of the club.
He will discuss the manager's very public complaints about 'broken promises' and address reports that Benitez is packed and ready to take charge at Juventus.

Coventry City have sacked manager Chris Coleman after a woeful run of form for the Coca-Cola Championship side.

Chairman Ray Ranson decided to act after an 11-match winless streak that marked a second successive season in which Coventry's form has trailed off towards the end of the season.

Rafa Benitez agent claims Liverpool boss wants to stay at Anfield

Rafa Benitez's agent claims the Liverpool boss has still not received any offers from Juventus or any other club and wants to stay at Anfield.

Feverish media speculation in England and Italy has linked Benitez to a move to Turin and the 50-year-old is believed to be the No 1 candidate to succeed coach Alberto Zaccheroni this summer.

Benitez is also a reported target of Real Madrid, but his agent today insisted the Spaniard does not intend to leave Liverpool.
